Wainui Avenue
This garden was a shady space defined by a boundary fence on two sides, and the house and office/sleepout on the others. There was a need for this young family to grow vegetables and have a washing line but also achieve a pleasant outlook for daily work in the home office and any guests that might use the sleepout. Raised garden beds and strategically placed planting shield the washing line from view, while potted topiary and dwarf lemon tree provide a foreground distraction from any edible plant past its prime. Coloured Hydrangea border the house and a flowering ground cover between pavers provides seasonal interest for the two young girls who will explore this garden throughout the year.
